SKYRIM

The night drew on, the wind was stronger as the trio made it closer to the top. If they continued the cold could be the end of them. The icy winds wouldn't let up, the only thing that kept them from freezing was the undying fires lighting the engraved tablets that pilgrims come to pray before.

Marcurio and Julien wouldn't last too much longer under these frigid conditions, they huddled beside each other for warmth. Stenvar, being almost impervious do the cold, was leading the way through the dimly lit path. Seeing them shivering cold had him very worried.

"Thi-thi-this cold is unb-b-b-bearable . . . Surely we'll meet our d-d-deaths up here," Marcurio stuttered as he walked closer to the fire and warmed his hands.

Being the gentle giant he was Stenvar tried to warm Julien up a bit as they looked off into the distance, nothing but dancing snow flakes could be seen in the dark.

"We must press onward, we shouldn't wait for too long," Julien suggested to Stenvar.
"Are you kidding me? You two will freeze to death and we can't have the Dovahkiin dying now can we?" Stenvar chuckled and smiled clearly unfazed but the cold, "We've already covered plenty of ground, we should set up a warm campfire. Can’t have you freezing to death before we get to High Hrothgar, Ha!”

Julien smiled to Stenvar’s kind gestures and funny remarks.

. . .

The campfire was set up pretty quickly with the assistance of Marcurio’s magic. The fire was strong and warmed the gang up very fast though the fire was unwanted by some. The trio felt as if they were being watched, something lurked near and did not like their presence.
“Did you here that?” Stenvar stood up and readied his hammer, ”Something is watching us.”
“Prepare yourselves,” Julien raised his shield as Ice Wraiths revealed themselves from the cold shadows.

Marcurio slipped back a bit to let Julien and Stenvar handle the melee while he quickly began hitting the creatures with fire and Lightning.

The wraiths lurked in the shadows and surrounded the fighters trying to trick them and circle around them, they seemed infatuated by Julien possibly targeting him for appearing to be the weakest.

Marcurio prepared a powerful fireball to fend off the fiends on Julien.
"Melt away you frigid fiend!" Marcurio shouted as he threw his fireball.

The monster was melting away as it tried to continue it's attack slowly getting weaker and weaker.

Soon enough the monsters were nothing more than frozen puddles on the snow.

No time for resting it seems, the trio continued to the top.
