Skyrim

Frostfall 2.0 has been a long, long time coming. Today I'd like to go over the best-of-breed talent that has contributed to making this next version of Frostfall something very special. This has been a monsterous collaborative effort but I think it's been well worth it.

jjc71 of Climates of Tamriel. I'm very happy to support CoT completely in Frostfall 2.0. This has been my #1 compatibility support request and I'm glad it's finally almost here.

T3nd0 of Skyrim Redone is revamping the entire Wayfarer perk tree to revolve around Frostfall and Last Seed. The perk tree will be named Survivalism going forward, and I'm really honored for being featured in SkyRe in such a major way. Let me tell you, T3nd0 is a tough customer to please; and I mean that in the best way possible :) We've been going back and forth on this perk tree for quite awhile now, and he's provided a steady stream of useful feedback, always challenging me to refine, refine, refine. It's obvious he wants this to be the best it can be and I'm grateful for that. I think we're close to wrapping things up.

Isoku, of Wet and Cold, has lent me use of his excellent wetness shader, as well as given me permission to include an option in Frostfall to automatically reconfigure both Frostfall and Wet & Cold for maximum compatibility. W&C already performs I'd say 95% of the aesthetic features I wanted for the "NPC Update" to Frostfall, and as such, I consider Wet & Cold to be an essential part of Frostfall's experience.

TreasureChest et al, of Sabre Gear Backpacks, who graciously lent me permission to use his backpacks and helped make the dynamic backpack feature possible. They have undergone a heavy degree of customization, so expect a wide range of visual variety and enhanced visual compatibility with cloaks.

Hanaisse, who graciously provided me with a custom set of awesome looking woodcutter's axes in various stages of disrepair.

Lorelai. To my knowledge, she hasn't released a mod before, but she is an incredibly talented modeler and will be providing some cloak meshes for Frostfall 2.0. While Frostfall will enjoy a very close level of compatibility with the likes of Nivea's Winter is Coming or Noodle's Cloaks of Skyrim, I have always wanted to make sure that the entire core mechanic of Frostfall was self-packaged, so I figured I needed some basic cloaks for the player to craft, in the off chance that they're not using one of the above-mentioned cloak mods. I don't have a screenshot to show you, but trust me when I say that her cloaks look great. You'll be seeing them soon!

Noodles, of Cloaks of Skyrim, has lent me use of his cloak meshes as well. His work's quality and variety goes without saying. Again, Frostfall 2.0 will only include a very small subset of cloaks. If you want a full gamut of choices, you should download a proper cloak mod.

Gerauld and Yuril, whose Transparent Wine Bottles I will be using for the new Snowberry Extract bottle mesh.

And those are just the authors whose work will be included with Frostfall one way or the other. There is a slew of other mods that will enjoy very deep levels of compatibility, including but not limited to:

Immersive Armors by Hothtrooper44. All of his armors will have values pre-set in the W.E.A.R. system out of the box.

Winter is Coming by Nivea. This mod was compatible before, but now even more specifically; each of her cloaks will be recognized as a fur cloak using Frostfall's new cloak material gameplay.

Cloaks of Skyrim by Noodles, as mentioned above. His cloaks will be recognized as burlap, leather, or linen, each of which include different benefits and drawbacks.

Tales of Lycanthropy - Werewolf Overhaul by Brevi should be fully compatible.

Belua Sanguinare Revisited - Dynamic Vampires by MofoMojo should be fully compatible.

ScenicCarriages by Sollar should no longer make you freeze to death during your travels :)

Arise - Chapter 1 - The Black Sacrament and Lustmord Vampire Armor by AmethystDeceiver - The cloaks from these mods should be recognized appropriately.

While Frostfall's camping system is now one of the best available anywhere, LtMattMoo's Camping and Camping Kit of the Northern Ranger by tek_7 continue to enjoy compatibility with Frostfall.

And the list goes on. Just because something wasn't included in this list does not mean that they are incompatible. Example: Better Vampires, all food and needs mods, and so on, are already implicitly supported by Frostfall.

If I've left anyone out, or if you have additional compatibility support requests, shoot me a PM and I'll see what I can do.

Thanks for reading, and thanks for supporting Frostfall. Have a good one!

I would like for Beta 3, the final beta test release, to be out this weekend. After that, it won't be long. Maybe a couple of extra days, maybe a full additional week. It will depend on how many bugs are found I suppose

How close are you to a release, can I continue my current play through or will 2.0 be better served with a restart? Ulcers forming from anticipation.....
