D&D Campaign - World of Urun
D&D Campaign Location - Sumond River (Sumond Region)
The wild elves of the Verduvian clan may be known as a reclusive bunch, but they are masterful hunters and fierce warriors of extraordinary ability. Every wild elf of the Verduvian clan possesses an immensely strong bond, or an affinity to nature, especially the clan’s druids. On rare occasion, hunters or warriors of the clan who have accumulated many great achievements or have successfully accomplished some great feat, usually benefiting the entire clan, receive a rhit’ja. A rhit’ja is a magical tattoo of sorts that is applied to the recipient only by the chief druid of the clan, in a grand ceremony called the jin’tar ri, which roughly translated, means “attunement” in many of the human languages. There are countless types of rhit’jas that can be applied by the chief druid, and it is always their choice. The chief druid tries to match the rhit’ja with the accomplishment of the warrior. For example, if a warrior defeats an overwhelming amount adversaries in combat, thus ensuring the safety of the clan, he or she may receive a rhit’ja of the bear, granting them permanent improved strength or fortitude. In one lifetime, an extremely accomplished hunter or warrior may accumulate up to six rhit’jas, if they are fortunate. In extreme cases, there have been some Verduvian warriors that have had nine or more rhit’jas, but then again, that is extremely rare.
“It is a simple choice, one can choose to be attuned by nature, or be devoured by it…”
-Sudah Yavir, Bearer of the Dozen Rhit’jas, The Lioness of the Sumond.
