First of all: Amaund Motierre looks so derpy on your images! Good, he's such a sleazy bastard... he doesn't deserve to look pretty. Besides, only nice guys look good, that's a common knowledge.
I loved the bit when he made that dramatic pause as if to wait for the proper music or a lighting. Didn't he know it works only with "I am... Dracula"?
And Rathe is so pissed, so it seems! Wonder what will happen when he pay Astrid a visit!

Rathe is one of my favorites around here I admit Can't say I would mind Astrid getting some ... feedback from Rathe (and not the carnal kind either). Nice job of building up tension as well. Looking forward to what happens next!

Oh that's so sweet WGD! I do imagine what would happen if Rathe and Grim ever crossed paths. Unfortunately I think they'd be enemies (or at least at first), but boy, there's an image I'd love to see!

And yes... I'm hoping for some payback to Astrid too. Grrr.

Well they are both predators so I suppose they could have some mutual respect. But I see Rathe as more of a black panther - a deadly and silent killer. Grim is more of a wolf and while often a loner does enjoy the sense of family the pack brings. So ... yea ... you know .. .cats and dogs lol Still I suspect they could work together if they had to especially if taking down slavers and vampires.

Oh I thoroughly enjoyed this particular episode.... Maybe it's the thought of totally BOLLOXING Astrid/Sighne's little mind-games once and for all.
Or the idea of having the proverbial deck stacked in Rathe's favour for once just makes me say: Mouhahahahahahahahahahaha! >massively evil grin<

I always thought of Motierre as more of a 'ruthless political manipulator' type, but in the way that you portrayed him....he DOES have a bit of Cicero the Jester in him after all!

    Edit:
Just read Wolfgrimdark's cool comment and howled!
It appears that Astrid/Sighne is about to be roughly f**ked in a way she WON'T like for once....
Bob Dylan comes to mind, wailing: "HOW does it feeeel"....^^

Rathe was in a particularly foul mood going to that meeting, then upon leaving it, the info and valuable contracts he just acquired must have made him feel better....^^ I guess he doesn't give a damn about "Arnbjorn", probably guessing that "line" was fake too....^^

Quickly endorsed. Warm and kind thanks, Jess, and cheers, dear!

Your comments made me laugh out loud dear! 'Bolloxing' Astrid in particular!! Oh and being f*#ked in a way she won't like!

I almost feel sorry for her; she's got such a hate following now! But then I think about how she's manipulating my dear Rathe and I go, "ah you're right. Clobber her!"

Keep your eyes peeled for the next chapter dear when things get even more interesting

      Thanks hon!!

Astrid might think she holds all the cards but Rathe sure has that sharp mind to find a way to turn that around, to have information to draw out the truth from among her manipulating words and false truths in that maze of a mind she has. I like how you described that cold about Rathe, that wind howling and biting at him, that chill seeming to take a life of its own among the shadows of that ruin. It is amusing how Rathe saw some of that mad jester in that Aumand, those odd little traits they share, that unsettling glee when speaking of a contract, that clapping of his hands. I do hope he will indeed learn what he needs to know, would be unwise for Astrid to lie once more. An intriguing chapter weaved so well as ever ^^

      Thanks dear!
I think you're right; Astrid had better be damn careful how she reacts when Rathe walks into the sanctuary. I see a man really at he end of his rope... and add alcohol into that mix, well, how volatile can one person get?
I'm glad you liked the descriptions of the howling wind in the crypt: it just sounded so eerie to me when I was wandering through I thought I just have to try and capture that!!

Great new installment, so wonderfully written! I am so glad that Rathe has finally grown sick and tired of Astrid's mind games and decided to act, though he still fulfilled her wish about seeing Motierre. The description of surroundings and the description of that crypt were simply amazing, I can almost feel that uneasy sinister atmosphere... strange place to make a deal but Motierre family is not only wealthy and old but very strange and I dare say rotten as well, because the ancestor of this particular Motierre did not hesitate a second to sacrifice his own mother to avoid being the victim of Dark Brotherhood, offering her life instead his own. and now his descendant also seek way to gain his benefits... Loved Rathe's reaction about killing the Emperor, he is already is so tired of crazy people and wants to know about Fleur that he wasn't even impressed by the second... Still Rathe is professional, so he would deliver the letter and message to Astrid, who had really gotten on his nerves, though she has her own deal of problems with Cicero, which I am sure Astrid will tell him about soon enough, probably trying to get Rathe under her control one more time. He really should give a thought of stabbing that sly vixen, not fatally but enough to get her understand she better not try to screw him in every way...

I am also very happy that Rathe didn't play by Astrid rules, deciding to go to sanctuary himself, without any distractions. And somehow I have a sense that there might be some big reveal there... I am so very exited! I greatly enjoyed this chapter and so looking forward for continuation!

Love the shots too, they all are amazing, this new ENB give such wonderful atmosphere to all shots, the sky with such colors is magnificent while Rathe looked awesome and so very impressive, marching forward angrily, focused and determined on reaching his goal! I love the rapid fire of your stories, it makes me hunger for more of them. Awesome work, thank you very much for sharing it!

Boy has Astrid gotten under people's skin! To see you, dear gentle Nat, advocating for stabbing her! Made me laugh!

But you're right, it IS nice to see Rathe finally one step ahead of her machinations and I'm certain she won't get out of this one entirely Scott free!

That Motierre family really is nuts huh? I remember Motierre from oblivion and always thought what a lowlife. And I couldn't help but see Cicero in Aumand; maybe it's just that my ENB makes them look a little similar... Just cracked me up!

Thanks for your very lovely feedback dear; warms my heart to see your comments!
