Use to make Custom Races more NMM friendly.

Why I made this.

  • I put this up mostly for us noobs. I use this utility all the time to make my life easier.
  • I use Custom Races by d_rail. By using this utility to quickly make mods compatible, I get more kill time.
  • I don't like putting things in my Data folder.
  • I can uninstall Custom races at any time without losing any tweaks.
  • I have a list of all custom settings for reference for making standalone NPCs

There is no info in these folders. All info is provided by you and d_rail.

How it works

  • Open my utility with Winrar. Extract to desktop.
  • Open the body/skin mod you want to use on your race with Winrar.
  • Extract meshes and textures to the race folders of my utility you want to use.
  • Find the Data folder of the utility.
  • Add it to archive using right click. Name whatever is relevant to you. I just put ME in front of whatever the mod's name was.
  • Delete files in utility folders.
  • Add mod from file with NMM. Find the archive you created.
  • Hit the install button.
  • Enjoy.

useful info

I've been using this for a while now. I've found putting a shortcut to the meshes and/or texture folder of the race you prefer on your desktop can dramatically reduce the amount of time it takes to move through the process of the utility. "Advanced" users can even put the race utility folder in the mod manager's mod folder.

A utility like this can be easily made for custom follower mods as well. Switching THEHAGs Privat tattoos and other cosmetic effects to, say, AngeLydia are easy to undo and keep track of.
