About this mod

Adds leveled "extra effect" perks, enabling the player to gradually add extra enchanting slots/effects as they work their way through the Enchanting perk tree.

Just choose how many TOTAL enchanting effects you want (vanilla skyrim is 2) to have after you achieve all of the perk levels!

I have always thought that the "Extra Effect" perk in vanilla Skyrim was a complete waste, regardless of if you have added extra effect enchanting slots. It does absolutely no good to have access to only one enchantment the entire game. Then, after you reach level 100 and powerful, you are finally able to receive an extra enchanting effect (or whatever number of effects your mod gives you). But now you don't really need it because you've already leveled up so high! It is very unbalanced and devalues the perk.

This mod gives access to the extra effect perk much earlier in the game. As such, the location of the perk has been changed. It now resides on its own independent branch of the Enchanting perk tree. Depending on which version of the mod you choose, the perk will be divided into multiple "perk levels". Each "perk level" has a higher skill requirement than the previous "perk level", and will give the player one additional enchanting effect.

*** IMPORTANT ***

This mod has many different versions. The two main questions you need to answer to determine which ESP file to install are:

1.) How many enchanting effects do you want to have?
(for example, the vanilla game allows for a total of 2 enchanting effects, after 1 extra effect is added from the vanilla "Extra Effect" perk)

Your choices are:
- 3 Effects (1 more than vanilla)
- 4 Effects (2 more than vanilla)
- 5 Effects (3 more than vanilla)
- 6 Effects (4 more than vanilla)

2.) Do you have and use the Dragonborn DLC?
* Yes: install Dragonborn version
* No: install non-Dragonborn version

Key Points:
** Each "perk level" will give the player one extra enchanting effect.
(example: if you chose the 5 Effect version, that means you can earn up to 4 Extra Effects, and each one must be earned separately)

** All versions of the mod still give the player one extra enchanting effect at level 100 enchanting, just like the vanilla game!

This is a breakdown of the perk distribution for the different versions:

3 Effects:
1st perk level @ level 50 enchanting
2nd perk level @ level 100 enchanting

4 Effects:
1st perk level @ level 40 enchanting
2nd perk level @ level 70 enchanting
3rd perk level @ level 100 enchanting

5 Effects:
1st perk level @ level 40 enchanting
2nd perk level @ level 60 enchanting
3rd perk level @ level 80 enchanting
4th perk level @ level 100 enchanting

6 Effects:
1st perk level @ level 20 enchanting
2nd perk level @ level 40 enchanting
3rd perk level @ level 60 enchanting
4th perk level @ level 80 enchanting
5th perk level @ level 100 enchanting

FRIENDLY NOTE: Keep in mind that the more effects you use, the more unbalanced the game will get in terms of being overpowered. If you like using a variety of effects but want to keep the game challenging, you can reduce the overall strength of your enchantments by decreasing the fEnchantingSkillFactor game setting. If you do not know how to set game settings such as this, google. I can also make a "hardcore version" with these changes already implemented. Basically it would reduce the strength/magnitude of each effect so that the combined strength of all effects is closer to what you would expect with vanilla.
(if i get feedback that people want this done in order to maintain balance, i will do it. otherwise i will not waste my time if nobody is going to use it)
